Frequently Asked Questions

We have a range of room options, from singles to a room that sleeps six. As you consider room assignments, please note that those sharing a room should be of the same gender (unless related), and only married couples may share a bed.
Our rooms are priced based on capacity (single/double, etc.) and number of stairs you have to climb- the higher the floor, the lower the room rate!
One month before your arrival, we’ll ask you to submit a rooming list with the names of the guests assigned to each room. If helpful, we’re happy to provide a rooming list worksheet to assist with planning your assignments.
We recommend browsing our booking portal to see photos of the rooms and bathrooms.

Bathrooms are shared among guests on each floor, but each bathroom is single-occupancy. Recently renovated, each has a walk-in shower. If you find that the bathroom on your floor is occupied at the time you need it, you are welcome to go up or down a floor to find an available bathroom.

Our check-in window is from 1 p.m. until 8 p.m. If your group arrives early, we are happy to store luggage until your rooms are ready.
Please let us know your group’s estimated arrival time, and as you plan your schedule, be sure to allow time for a short orientation when you check in and receive your keys.
If your group arrives at different times, we ask that you work with us to schedule an orientation so we can review all important information about staying with us together as a group.
If anyone in your group experiences travel delays, we ask that you, as the group leader, pick up their keys and arrange for that guest to contact you directly once they arrive at the house.

Check-out is at 10:00 a.m., but we’re happy to store your group’s luggage if your departure is later in the day.
We appreciate your help in collecting all keys and reminding group members to remove all belongings from their rooms by 10:00 a.m.

No, you don’t. We provide linens and towels for all guests. Linens and bedding are not changed daily as they would be in a hotel—this is one of the ways we’re able to keep the guest house budget-friendly. However, guests are always welcome to request fresh linens or towels if needed.
Soap and shampoo are provided, and hair dryers and an iron are available upon request. (We want to make sure you know all that you’ll have access to when you arrive in an effort to help you pack light, as our historic brownstone does not have an elevator and luggage will need to be carried up the stairs.)
-
Unfortunately, there isn't kitchen access for our guests. If you want to serve a meal for your group, you can reserve our dining room space, and we can offer a list of great catering options in the area.
While we can’t accommodate on-site food preparation, we can store a few perishable items (like milk or yogurt) and a small number of non-perishable items. Let us know in advance if you’ll need storage so we can make arrangements.
-
Freshly brewed coffee is available in our parlor every morning around 8:30 a.m. and access to hot water and a variety of teas is always available. We also have a hospitality room with a Keurig machine available 24 hours.
If your group books another one of our meeting spaces, you can add our coffee and tea service to your space rental to make sure that you have plenty of coffee for your group throughout your meeting.
-
No, we do not have parking spots available. You can find more information about parking here.
Please note that parking a large van in the city will be a difficult (and expensive) endeavor. You might want to look into the last option listed on the parking guide (Summit Parking Services in NJ).
-
Our parlor is available as a communal space if it hasn’t already been reserved by another group. Some groups prefer to reserve a specific meeting space—for example, hosting a meal in our dining room or setting aside an evening slot for a group debrief. You can find more information about our meeting space rentals here.

Yes, groups sometimes bring supplies for their ministry projects or need space to store non-perishable snacks. With advance notice, we’re happy to help arrange storage.

Keep in mind (and share with your whole group) that getting around New York City usually involves a lot of walking. You can use the subway and buses, but you should be prepared to walk quite a bit as part of your trip.
To ride the subway or bus, tap a contactless payment method at the OMNY reader. This can be a credit or debit card, a smartphone, a smartwatch, or an OMNY card. The fare is $3.00 per person.
Transfers: Bus-to-subway transfers are free within two hours when using the same OMNY card or device.
OMNY weekly fare cap (per individual): If the same card or device is used repeatedly over a rolling 7-day period, OMNY automatically applies a weekly fare cap. After reaching the cap, additional local bus and subway rides for that individual are free for the rest of the week. -
