Arriving from the Airport

If you have heavy luggage and are not familiar with New York, we advise taking a taxi or other car service (such as Uber or Lyft) from the airport. 

Note: Sometimes car service drivers will approach you at baggage claim, offering an inexpensive ride into Manhattan. To avoid scams, it is best to use a reputable company or app or hail a yellow cab at the designated airport taxi stand.

La Guardia Airport

Follow signs from the terminal to Ground Transportation and catch the M60-SBS bus. Pay using OMNY by tapping a contactless credit/debit card, smartphone, or OMNY card. The fare is $3.00.

Ride this city bus from the airport terminal to 125th Street and Lenox Avenue in Manhattan. At 125th Street and Lenox Avenue, transfer to the Downtown 2 or 3 subway line and ride to 72nd Street. The subway fare is $3.00, but when you use OMNY, your bus-to-subway transfer is free within two hours, so you will not be charged again.

Exit the station at 72nd Street and Broadway, then walk one long block east to Columbus Avenue. Turn left and walk north on Columbus Avenue three blocks to 75th Street, then turn right.

Newark New Jersey Liberty Airport

From Newark Liberty International Airport (EWR), take the airport shuttle bus to 42nd Street / Port Authority Bus Terminal. From there, you can either take a taxi to 51 West 75th Street, which will generally cost around $14–$18 including tip, depending on traffic, or continue by subway.

If you take the subway, go downstairs in the terminal to the subway entrance. Pay using OMNY by tapping a contactless credit/debit card, smartphone, or OMNY card. The fare is $3.00 per person. Take the ‘C’ train uptown to 72nd Street. Exit onto Central Park West, then walk three blocks uptown to 75th Street, turn left, and continue to the end of the block. 51 West 75th Street is on the north side of the street, with brown steps leading up to the front door.

JFK Airport

From JFK, you can take a taxi directly to 51 West 75th Street. The regulated flat fare is $70, but with tolls, surcharges, and tip, expect $85–$100 total.

If you prefer public transportation, take the AirTrain from your terminal to Jamaica Station. Tap your OMNY card or device (contactless credit/debit card, smartphone, smartwatch, or OMNY card) at the AirTrain fare gate. The AirTrain fare is $8.25 per person to enter or exit at Jamaica. From Jamaica, take the ‘E’ train toward Manhattan/WTC and get off at 50th Street. At 50th Street, transfer within the station to the uptown ‘C’ train—this is a free subway-to-subway transfer with OMNY. Ride the ‘C’ train to 72nd Street, then exit onto Central Park West. Walk three blocks uptown to West 75th Street, turn left, and continue to the end of the block.

Travel time from JFK to mid‑Manhattan is approximately 60–75 minutes by subway (including the AirTrain and transfers), depending on connections and luggage handling.
