The Apostle’s Creed:

I believe in God, the Father Almighty,
      Maker of heaven and earth;

And in Jesus Christ, his only Son, our Lord,
      Who was conceived by the Holy Spirit
      Born of the virgin Mary,
      Suffered under Pontius Pilate,
      Was crucified, dead, and buried.
      he descended into hell.
      The third day he rose again from the dead.
      He ascended to heaven,
      And is seated at the right hand of God the Father Almighty;
      From there he will come to judge the living and the dead.

I believe in the Holy Spirit,
      the holy catholic* church,
      the communion of saints,
      the forgiveness of sins,
      the resurrection of the body,
      and the life everlasting. Amen.

Statement of Belief on Marriage and Sexuality

Marriage is God-ordained and a reflection of the relationship between Christ and the Church. (Matthew 19:4-5, Ephesians 5:23-30). Marriage is to be an exclusive relationship, a faithful union between a man and a woman. All other forms of sexual intimacy, including premarital sexual activity between a man and a woman, lust, and same-sex sexual activity of any kind, are sinful, because they are outside of God’s design.

The Bible teaches that God created two distinct sexes of humans, male and female, to bear His image together (Gen. 1:27-28; Matt. 19:4; Mark 10:6). Gender is not merely a social construct, but instead represents a reality present in every human (Ps 139:13). Men and women are not interchangeable.

To avoid any appearance of sin (Colossians 1:22), unmarried opposite sex adults must sleep in separate guest rooms at Hephzibah House, and only married couples (as defined above) may share a bed.
